In commemoration of 50 years since the development of the laser, the laser research capacity of Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) is gaining global attention. A related article in the Korean newspaper Hankook Ilbo on (May) 27 highlighted research in high-power laser conducted by the GIST Advanced Photonics Research Institute (APRI).

GIST APRI, well known as Korea’s only research institute on photonics technology, undertakes diverse research activities using various types of lasers.
