GIST Faculty Shows Love Through Action

GIST has taken matters into its own hands to help local residents who need additional workers during farming season.

On (May) 8, the GIST faculty went to an onion farm in Hampyoung, Jeonllanam Province to help with the harvest. Despite the hot weather, Chief of Administration Hae-Deuk Noh and some 20 employees took part in offering help to the farms.

These days, due to an aging population in rural farming areas, there is always a lack of workers around the farm. The help offered by the GIST faculty to local farmers were warmly welcomed.

As a responsible social member, GIST also operates various cooperation projects for the local community, such as free after-school programs for local students taught by the school’s students of master and doctoral programs.
