Prior to his accession as Mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City, Woon-Tae Kang visited GIST (President Jung-Ho Sonu) on June 25 to discuss ways for mutual cooperation

Welcoming his visit, GIST introduced its printable, high performance Korean-type plastic solar cell, convergence LED and lighting technology, peptide bio material technology which was developed in connection with the healthcare industry, and its plans to establish an international cultural industry-based technology research center.

Mayor-elect Kang commented that he was serving as Mayor of Gwangju in 1995 when GIST was opened, and requested GIST’s assistance in attracting businesses to Gwangju by utilizing its technology and highly qualified personnel. He added that he would do his best to commercialize GIST’s most promising technologies.
