On 29th, GIST(Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, President Jung-Ho, SONU) held an event to mark the retirement of professor Young-ha Kim at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, who was a pioneer in the bio material engineering field.

The retirement ceremony was conducted in the order of delivering medal for merit, souvenir, and flowers, congratulatory remarks by President Jung-Ho SONU, retirement speech by professor Young-ha Kim, and photo-ops and 200 faculty members and students participated in the event to celebrate the retirement. In addition, students at the bio materials lab prepared birthday party to mark professor Young-ha Kim"s 65th birthday.

In his congratulatory remarks, President Jung-Ho SONU said "he has led the research in bio materials and tissue engineering since he joined us. He contributed a lot to make our school known well in the international community". "I"d like to congratulate professor Kim for retiring as a professor who produced many excellent students and scientist who led the development of Korea"s science and technology." the president added.
