GIST hosts the Microbiological Society of Korea International Conference 2011
The Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST, President Jung-Ho Sonu) hosted the Microbiological Society of Korea International Conference 2011 (chaired by Mr. Nam Doo-hyun) for two days from May 12th to 13th, 2011. According to GIST and the Microbiological Society of Korea, around 500 professors, researchers, postgraduates and parties interested in the microbiological industry from Korea and abroad participated in the event. At the conference, microbiologists presented their works in 9 areas, including "Recent Development and Molecular Epidemiology of Enteric Viruses."
"For the past 52 years, the Microbiological Society of Korea has made contributions to the nation"s basic and applied research and to diffusion of knowledge throughout the country. We hope that this conference hosted by GIST will play a stepping stone for further development of the Microbiological Society of Korea," President Jung-Ho Sonu said during his welcoming speech.
