Bong-ryull Yang, GIST Vice President of Public Affairs, Gives an Interview to Gwangnam Ilbo

"I have come back home in 40 years. I am confident that my role is to make the optimum research environments that enable the faculties of the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) to obtain the best research performance, by taking advantage of my 33-year experience as a diplomat."

At the interview, the GIST Vice president of public affairs Bong-ryull Yang remarked "I will do my utmost to help the GIST, pride of the honam region, develop as a world-class institute that fosters science and technology talents."

Vice president Yang looked ahead into the future "While the Massachusetts Institute of Technology is the role model for the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, the GIST"s role model is the California Institute of Technology, the world"s privileged university in the US. The GIST"s recent research performances suggest that its dream will come true before long."
