The GIST Undergraduate Campus and New and Renewable Energy Institute Wins the Grand Prize of Design at the 6th Korean Ecological and Environmental Architecture Awards

 

The award-winning GIST undergraduate campus and new and renewable energy institute was designed by Heerim Architects and Planners with a basement and eight ground floors, which is to be completed in 2012.  

The GIST undergraduate campus considers realizing a low energy, low carbon green campus as the most important goal. Accordingly, the building actively uses natural energy sources such as solar light, geothermal heat and wind power and rainwater and introduced a smart green building outer wall system and a low carbon green transportation system, which has led to obtaining a preliminary certificate of the best environment-friendly building for the first time as a university campus.
