The Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) began to get notices as one of Korea"s top universities. GIST was established in 1993 as a research-centered graduate school by the Special Act on the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology and started to accommodate undergraduate students in 2010. Now, GIST is recognized as one of Korea"s top science and technology universities with KAIST and POSTECH.
