GIST to host CT Institute.

 

A final decision was made to select GIST(President Jung-ho Sonu) as the host of the Culture and Technology Institute (CT Institute), which is the core project for creating Hub City of Asian Culture.

The partial revision of "Basic Act on the Cultural Industry Promotion" proposed by Rep. Byeong-wan Jang of Democratic Party(Nam-gu, Gwangju) with the major topic of establishing CT Institute was passed in the regular session of the National Assembly on Dec. 30, 2011.

The revised law contains statements to designate GIST as the location of CT Institute and provide all the expenses for operating the institute with the government budget.

In addition, details needed for operating the CT Institute will be made by the Presidential Decree.

If the proposed bill is passed into a law, the CT Institute will  lead the Culture and Technology R&D project after being established in GIST.
