Korea"s Top IT Technology, Going to Sea

Kim Ki-Seon, director of Korea - Russia MT - IT Collaboration Center, challenges marine communication technologies. He, as an IT professional, is confident of information and communication technologies in Korea, a powerhouse of IT.

 

 However, the counterpart is the unknown world, the sea. Pacific Oceanological Institute (POI) of Russia, a nation with strong marine military technologies, becomes a partner to study the marine communication technologies. In 2009, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology selected "a project of attracting excellent foreign research centers" and Jeollanam-do confirmed the joint support of this project to start the convergence research of marine technology (MT) and IT in full scale.
