Power up by changing clothes of solar cells. (Article from Science Dong-A July Edition)

Collected lights through a huge lens and reduced reflexibility through special coating.

The biggest barrier to commercialization of compound semiconductor is high production cost. The reason why the 2nd generation solar cells are called compound semiconductors is they use compound materials composed of group 3 and group 5 elements or group 2 and group 6 elements(marked as group 13, 15, 12, 16 in a text book). One of the most often used elements such as group 3 element kalium and indium cost $470 and $550 per 1Kg. They are significantly expensive compared to the material of the 1st generation solar cells, silicon, which cost $1.5 per 1Kg. What will be the strategy of the Solar Energy Institute for commercializing the costly 2nd generation solar cells?
