The International Environmental Analysis and Education Center (IEAEC) of GIST(Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology · President, Kim Young-Joon) organized the 10th Annual UNU & GIST Joint Program Symposium in Bangkok, Thailand on October 16^th ~18^th.

  Under the theme of “Southeast Asian Trans boundary Environmental Issues – Contaminants and Challenges,” participants to the symposium addressed issues related to air pollutants and aerosol, monitoring of heavy metals in soil/water and fine pollutants, conversion and risk assessment. Leading experts from East Asia and Southeast Asia, such as Korea, Japan, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Thailand and Switzerland, attended as speakers for in-depth discussions.

  In particular, two undergraduates from GIST attended the symposium and had opportunities to meet environmental experts and ponder on environmental issues facing Asian countries.
