- Joining the Luncheon held at Presidential Residence with Invitation of President Park Geun Hye on August 7^th

Jung Jin Hong, the Dasan distinguished professor at GIST was invited by President Park Guen Hye along with other leaders and experts in the field of liberal art, spiritual leadership and culture to join the luncheon at Presidential House. Professor Jung is taking charge of leading the Institute of Culture and Technology of Korea opened last June (located at the 1st floor of Dasan Building at GIST). 

The luncheon was President Park’s first official schedule after returning from summer vacation and 13 leaders and experts in the field of liberal art, spiritual leadership and culture including Professor Jung and Kim Woo Chang, chair professor at Ewha Woman’s University, Lee Si Hyung, head of Korea Natural Medical Research Center, You Jong Ho, chair professor at Yeonse University, Park Bum Shin, Lee In Hwa, novelists and Gwan Young Min, chair professor at Dankook University were invited to discuss and emphasize on the importance of liberal art and culture  in boosting creative economy and cultural prosperity.

At the luncheon, Professor Jung said “master craftsmanship is a good example of converging creative economy and cultural prosperity.” and added “ It is planned to pursue the project of craftsmanship more actively.”  

The “Discussion with Leaders and Experts in the Field of Liberal Art, Spiritual Leadership and Culture” is a follow-up activity of the committee of creative economy and cultural prosperity launched last month, organized by the presidential office to listen to extensive opinions of those in the field to get insights of the society and set the direction of liberal art and cultural prosperity.
