Minister Choi of MSIP held ‘Mii-in Talk Concert’ at GIST in Gwangju to Meet Future Talents

– The Talk Concert was a valuable opportunity for the minister to have discussions with students at Gwangju –

 

 

 

 

 

□ Choi Mun-Kee, Minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning, was at “Mii-in (美人 or ‘talented youth of the future’) Talk Concert” held in 3 p.m. October 29th (Tue) at Oryong Hall to talk about “how to generate talents capable of creative consolidation and to deal with youth unemployment”.  

○ This “talk concert”, a meeting hosted by famous figures, was held as a means for the Minister to share his will with students to bring up the talents at universities capable for creative consolidation who will drive the creative economy of Korea and to encourage them start their own businesses.

○ The talk concert was hosted by Ms. Noh Eun Ji, a science reporter, and as panels, had Minister Choi Mun-Kee, Mr. Park Tae Kyu (a GIST student), Prof. Kim Sung Ho at School of Fundamental Education, Ms. Hwang In Ok (a potter and CEO of Insnine), and Mr. Park Yong Ho (Vice president of Panda Media and a mentor at “Creative Korea”, a platform which helps people realize their creative ideas. About 200 students and citizens in Gwangju participated in the talk concert as audiences.

 

□ Mii-in Talk Concert is created by the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning as a means to receive opinions of ordinary people about nurturing generate talents capable of creative consolidation who will drive the creative economy and to encouraging them start their own businesses and to share the Ministry’s visions and strategies for the creative economy as well as its strategies and activities. 

 

□ Minister Choi also had a discussion on the transfer and commercialization of technologies developed by GIST and an opportunity to hear difficulties the members of GIST are experiencing and their opinions.
