The Global Desalination Research Center (GDRC) of GIST hosted The 7th International Desalination Workshop (IDW 2014) held at The Lotte City Hotel in Jeju Island on November 5 – 8.

The workshop was attended by more than 150 professionals from over 20 countries, including Miriam Balaban, Secretary General of European Desalination Society; Enrico Drioli, Professor at University of Calabria; Mariusz Grzelakowski, Chief Scientific Officer of Applied Biomimetic, Inc.; and Avi Efraty, Chief Technical Officer of Desalitech.

A total of 90 presentations were made on various topics such as “World Status of Water Desalination,” “New Materials & Nano Technology,” “Membrane Distillation & Brine,” and “Solar Energy Driven Desalination.”
