Raw Fish Restaurant “Hoebaksa” Makes 1.2 Million Won Pledge to GIST Development Fund

“Hoebaksa,” a local restaurant whose name means “Dr. Raw Fish” in Korean, has become the very first “GIST Supporter’s House.”

Mr. Lee Cheol-hyeong and Ms. Park Soon-shim, the couple who have owned and operated the restaurant since 1996 in Weolgye-dong near the GIST campus, made a 1.2 million won pledge to GIST Development Fund and received the first “GIST Supporter’s House” plaque on December 23.

“This is our way of saying thank you to all GIST community members who have patronized Hoebaksa over the past 18 years,” said Mr. Lee. “We are so happy that we can make a contribution, albeit small, to the development of GIST.”
