GIST Collegestudents are going all over the world

GIST College students at UC Berkeley in 2015

GIST College students recently started their summer vacation, and students are going away for international exchange programs in America, Israel, and Moldova.

There will be a total of 179 college students (2nd and 3rd year students) participating in Caltech, UC Berkeley, Moldov,a and Technion Institute of Technology. UC Berkeley is GIST’s most popular exchange program with 153 students participating. Students will take summer classes while staying in campus dormitories at UC Berkeley. They will also gain a variety of experiences, such as participating in group activities and cultural outing.

Four exceptional college students were selected for Caltech’s SURF (Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship) program. Selected students will participate in graduate level research with Caltech professors. Each will receive a scholarship of $6,000.

GIST College students at Technion University in 2015

Six students (4 undergraduates, 2 graduates) are going to participate in the ‘Entrepreneurship & Innovation’ program at Israel"s Technion Institute of Technology. Students will learn what it takes to be a future entrepreneurs and innovators through this program. They will also visit numerous successful local businesses and learn from global market leaders.

GIST College students in Moldova in 2015

Sixteen college students are volunteering for a month in Moldova. There will be four teams of four students sub-divided into two groups: One group will go to the International Free University in Chisinau, which is in capital of Moldova, and the other group will be sent to Oxentia and Budesti. They will help at children’s centers and teach IT to the general public while offering cultural exchanges.

GIST College Dean Do-Kyeong Ko said, “Our international exchange program is superior to any Korean other university in terms of size and support. For our students with ample experience abroad, it gives them a great opportunity to gain communications and problem-solving skills that are necessary for science and technology researchers."
