Chaired professor Kim Hee-jun gives lecture in "Ask Science for Directions " - takes part in public lecture program at National Science Museum in April, ‘Month of Science’
Chaired professor Kim Hee Joon of Division of Liberal Arts and Sciences of GIST (Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, President ‧Young Joon Kim) participated in a public lecture program named < Ask Science for Directions > held at Gwacheon National Science Museum in April and gave special lectures four times.
Previously, he taught chemistry at Seoul National University and retired in February this year before joining GIST as chaired professor. Every Friday during the past month, Professor Kim gave lectures to teenagers and parents on the theme of ‘elements’ such as ‘elements of the universe’, ‘elements of the earth’, ‘elements of human body’ and ‘origins of elements’.
< Ask Science for Directions > is a public lecture program where teenagers have fun by learning the nature of science and find answers on their own by asking questions. It was organized by Gwacheon National Science Museum
During the lecture program, scientists in five areas—chemicals, astronomy, earth science, biology and physics--including Professor Kim, Researcher Park Suk-jae of Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (prodigy boy Song Yoo-keun’s mentor), Professor Choi Deuk-keun of Seoul National University (earth and environmental science), Professor Bang Jae-wook of Chungnam National University (biological science) and Professor Kwak Young-jik of Suwon University (physics) gave special lectures once a week.
