For Promoting Industrial-Academic Cooperation in Voice-related Technologies
Prof. Hong Kook Kim of GIST School of Information and Communications has been awarded a Citation of Merit at the Industrial-Academic Cooperation EXPO 2014 hosted by the Ministry of Education and organized by the National Research Foundation of Korea and the Korea Institute for the Advancement of Technology. The award was conferred in recognition of Prof. Kim’s contributions to strengthening national competitiveness and expanding employment as a researcher in voice-related technologies.
Prof. Kim has conducted a number of research projects supported by the government as well as industrial-academic cooperation projects with Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., developing numerous technologies such as voice feature extraction for voice recognition, voice model compensation, built-in voice command recognition, NMF-based noise reduction, and ACC codec voice quality improvement.
