Professor Sang-Ho Kim of GIST College’s
Division of Liberal Arts and Sciences has been appointed a member of the
National Assembly’s Special Committee on Public Officials Pension Reform.
A leading expert on public pensions in
Korea, Professor Kim is currently serving as an honorary president of the
Korean Social Security Association and the chair of GIST College’s Division of
Liberal Arts and Sciences.
The National Assembly’s Special
Committee on Public Officials Pension Reform held its first meeting on January
8. The special committee is led by co-chairs Cho Won Jin of the ruling Saenuri
Party and Kang Gi Jung of the opposition New Politics Alliance for Democracy
and has a total of 20 members including national assembly members, government
officials, representatives of civil servants’ groups, and experts recommended
by the ruling and opposition parties.
