Professor Darren Williams is selected as an American Chemical Society (ACS) 'Journal Star'

□ Professor Darren R. Williams of the School of Life Sciences at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST, President Seung Hyeon Moon) was selected as one of as the 17 most highly prolific authors by ACS Chemical Biology.

∘ The American Chemical Society selected the top papers and top authors of their journals and referred to them as "Journal Stars."

∘ The American Chemical Society is the world's largest chemical society, and academic journals compiled by the Society are the most trusted, most quoted, and most read in the chemical field. In addition, Professor Williams has published articles in the fields of chemistry, biology, and materials.

∘ Others selected by ACS Chemical Biology include Professor Peter Schultz of the Scripps Institute who is also a well-known Wolf Prize recipient, and Professor Christopher T. Walsh of Harvard University who also received the Arthur C. Cope Scholarship Award.

□ Professor Williams has published original research results in ACS Chemical Biology concerning low-molecular compounds in salmonid initiation in mammals, and two of his papers were selected as the Best of Chemical Biology in 2011 and 2012.

□ A special event will be held to celebrate the selection of honorable journalists at the regular conference of the American Chemical Society in Washington, DC, on August 22, 2017.
