Professor Hisam Kim selected as a member of the low birth rate aging society committee
□ Professor Hisam Kim of GIST College (President Seung Hyeon Moon) was appointed as a member of the low birth rate aging society committee in the presidential office on December 18, 2017.
□ The committee is composed of 17 members with the president as the chairperson. It will plan for the future and analyze policies to cope with population change and carry out important tasks, such as deliberation of the ministry.
∘ In other words, the committee is responsible for identifying key and challenging policy agendas and reviewing the 'mid- and long-term policy objectives and direction of implementation' or 'coordination and evaluation' to prepare for a low birth rate aging society.
□ Deputy Chair Sang-hee Kim Sang-hee said, "Although the committee existed before, the role of the committee and the will of the government were taken into consideration when the new government was elected. I will do my best to develop practical policies and to coordinate and lead each ministry to work well together."
□ Professor Hisam Kim, who attended a private committee meeting on the 19th of last month, said, "Although it is important to present a roadmap based on a vision, there is a need to create success stories that people can experience. In addition to the fertility rate index, a sense of happiness should also be a measure of our performance. If you consider the suicide rate in Korea, you can think about what the committee should focus on."
