RISE signs MOU with KIST for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology Development

□ The GIST Research Institute for Solar and Sustainable Energies (RISE, Director Jae-Hyung Jang) and KIST National Technology Research Center nation-based technology research center (Director Jong-hee Hwang) signed an MoU for research and educational cooperation at RISE on June 29, 2017.

∘ The two institutions agreed to exchange data and information related to research and education, to exchange human resources for research and educational cooperation, to identify and promote joint research projects, to co-host international academic conferences, and to promote international journals.

□ After the ceremony, a workshop was held for GIST and KIST officials to discuss the research areas of the GIST Chemical Energy Storage and Transformation Center (Director Jaeyoung Lee) and KIST Fuel Cell Research Center (Director Hyung-joon Kim).

□ Professor Sung-ahn Hong * emphasized the importance of cooperation regarding research and development synergies. "The cooperation between the KIST Fuel Cell Research Center, which has accumulated research know-how for many years, and the GIST, which has excellent human resources, is expected to be a good example of an important success story in the early stages of developing a hydrogen energy society."

* Professor Sung-ahn Hong has been a chaired professor at GIST two years ago after leading the development of hydrogen fuel cells at KIST for over 30 years.
