GIST was listed in the 2017 Top 75 Most Innovative Universities in Asia by Reuters

□ The Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST, President Seung Hyeon Moon) was recently listed in the 2017 Top 75 Most Innovative Universities in Asia by Reuters.

∘ On July 25, 2017, President Moon received a commemorative plaque from Jin-woo Kim of the Korea branch manager Claribrate Analytics.

□ Asia's Most Innovative Universities is ranked by Reuters every year and is based on various factors: ▲ patent application rate ▲ patent success rate ▲ international patent ratio ▲ patent citation number ▲ patent citation rate ▲ influence of patent citation papers ▲ 10 indicators including influence of industry paper citations.

□ GIST President Moon said, "As of last year, GIST had 282 domestic and overseas patent applications and 183 registered applications. The number of patent applications per registered professor was higher than that of other universities. Since the necessity of establishing an environment in which excellent research results can lead to start-up or commercialization is more important than anything, we will do our utmost to fulfill our role as a platform for creating knowledge and new industries that can lead national and regional economic development."
