GIST hosts parent meeting for the Honam area (Gwangju, Jeonnam, Jeonbuk)

□ The Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST, President Seung Hyeon Moon) held a parent-teacher conference on July 25th, 2017, inviting 100 parents of GIST college and graduate school students who lived in the Honam area.

□ The event was an opportunity for parents to communicate directly with President Seung Hyeon Moon, Vice-President Hor-Gil Hur, and Vice-President Phil-hwan Park, and College Dean Do-Kyeong Ko. Participating parents were given an update about the current status of GIST and learned more about the school through informative videos.

□ GIST President Moon greeted the parents by saying, "With the parent conference that was held earlier this year in Daegu and Busan, the parents of Honam also expressed a strong interest in learning more about GIST as we work together to help our children become exceptional scientists and researchers who will one day contribute significantly to national and international scientific advances."

□ A parent who finished the meeting said, "I knew a little bit about the school that my child attended, but I learned much more after today's meeting where I had chance to listen directly from the president and professors. I am grateful that GIST gave us this meaningful opportunity to meet."
