□ The Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST, President Seung Hyeon Moon) held the "2017 Global Intern Program (GIP) Completion Ceremony" at the Central Library on August 18, 2017.
∘ The Global Internship Program provides foreign students with excellent research experience at GIST as well as opportunities for cultural experiences for 8 weeks during the summe.
□ The ceremony was held with a total of about 70 people, including International and Public Affairs Dean Yong Chul Kim, 40 interns, researchers, and 30 students. The ceremony was held with great success.
∘ This year's internship program selected 40 interns from 16 countries, including Poland, Spain, India and Ecuador, who participated research projects at GIST for 8 weeks from June 23 to August 18.
□ Yanqui Rivera Francisco David from Quito University in Ecuador said, "It was a short time, but I was able to experience Korea's science and technology level and culture through GIP. I hope to pursue my master's degree."
□ The 2018 Global Internship Program will being receiving applications next February.
