APRI signs the "Military Science and Technology Convention" with the Army Air Defense Academy

□ The Advanced Photonics Research Institute (APRI, Director Seung Hyeon Moon) at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST, President Seung Hyeon Moon) signed an agreement with the Army Air Defense Academy on August 25 , 2017.

∘ Since last year, both organizations have held seminars for the development of defensive laser technologies and improving the efficiency of the latest weapon system, and they have also signed an agreement to carry out advanced defense technology research and development that includes training defense experts and having joint research on laser weapons system.

□ APRI was designated as a specialized research institute by the Defense Business Administration last year and has established a security research center that specializes in defense and security research.

□ APRI Director Byeong Ha Lee said, "Through this agreement, both institutions will closely cooperate in the development of defense research and professional manpower using laser."
