□ And October 12, 2017, the International Environmental Research Institute (IERI, Director Joon Ha Kim) at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST, President Seung Hyeon Moon) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Professor Jens-Uwe Repke from the Technische Universität Berlin* to cooperate with each other on research and education regarding climate change adaptation technologies, which they will share with each other.
* The Department of Dynamics and Operations, Institute of Process and Process Engineering, Technische Universität Berlin (TUB-DBTA) is one of the three major engineering universities in Germany. Established to explore complex interactions between optimal operations and design, TUB-DBTA specializes in process development that can be applied and commercialized in all industries by optimizing modeling and simulation experimental research at various scales. Major research fields include transportation phenomenon, strengthening processes, model development, process design and operation.
□ On the first day of the visit, a special seminar on" Process Dynamics and Design in Chemical Engineering" was held for GIST students, and they discussed detailed plans for future cooperation, such as having student exchanges and collaborations on education and research.
□ Director Joon Ha Kim said, "Through mutual cooperation agreement with TUB-DBTA in Germany, I hope to expand education and research cooperation and exchanges in science and technology that will benefit both of our coutries."
