GIST signs agreements with Gwangju Metropolitan City and Haeyang City Gas, Co., to promote social development projects

□ The Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST, President Seung Hyeon Moon) signed a cooperation agreement on December 12, 2017, with Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Jang-hyun Yoon) and Haeyang City Gas, Co., (CEO Hyung Soon Kim) to promote social development projects.

□ The ceremony was attended by GIST President Seung Hyeon Moon,  Gwangju Mayor Jang-hyun Yoonb, and Mr. Kim, Hyungsoon, and Haeyang City Gas, Co., CEO Hyung Soon Kim.

∘ Funds will be raised by Haeyang City Gas, Co., and GIST. GIST will also manage an educational program while Gwangju Metropolitan City will provide administrative support accordingly.

□ GIST President Seung Hyeon Moon said, "Through this agreement with Gwangju Metropolitan City and Haeyang City Gas, Co., GIST will be a good example of social development activities for the local community."

□ Meanwhile, the GIST Learning Program is designed to create a community where more than 80 students from the GIST Social Development Team share their knowledge through volunteer activities. They regularly visit children's center in Gwangju to give warm encouragements and hope to underprivileged children and youths.
