GIST undergraduate selected for the Mokam Science Foundation scholarship
□ The undergraduate student at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Education (GIST, President Seung Hyeon Moon) was selected for the 2018 Mokam Science Foundation * (Chairman In-ae Jung) and a received a scholarship of 10 million won.
* The Mokam Science Foundation will support scholarships and research funding of young scientists who will lead the future of science in Korea. The Foundation was established In December of 2005 by Green Cross Co., Ltd., President Young-seop Heo, to help the development of promising young scientists. Since then, scholarships have been awarded to undergraduate students as they advance to pursue doctoral degree.
□ Undergraduate Tae-Hong Kang, a third-year chemistry major applied for the Mokam Science Foundation scholarship in December 2017, .
∘ GIST awarded the scholarship to Tae-Hong Kang on February 6, 2018.
□ Tae-Hong Kang maintains a grade point average of 4.0 or higher (on the 4.5 scale) while completing his 6th semester at GIST. Mr. Kang said, "After graduation, I would like to continue my studies by going to graduate schools in related fields."
