GIST and KEPCO KDN sign MoU for artificial intelligence
□ On 22 March 2018, GIST (President Seung Hyeon Moon) and KEPCO KND * (President Seong-cheol Park) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the development of national science and technology through a convergence of technologies and artificial intelligence.
* KEPCO KDN was established in 1992 and has been applying advanced power ICT technology to the entire power grid system from power generation, transmission, distribution, and sales, while providing services such as power system monitoring, diagnosis, and control. In the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, KEPCO KDN is also leading the development of AICBM technologies, including AI, IoT, cloud, big data, and mobile.
□ Through this MoU, the two organizations have agreed to work closely with each other in the field of artificial intelligence, concentrating on the convergence of power ICT and artificial intelligence, and on the development of solutions.
□ GIST Vice President Hor-Gil Hur said, "In the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, I hope this will be a bold step forward in the creation of an artificial intelligence-centric science and technology campus and entrepreneurial town through the excellent personal and research exchanges with KEPCO KDN."
