           Use of AI in drug discovery: the current status and the future with quantum

Below is an abstract of the talk:

 딥 러닝의 출현으로 기계 학습의 부활이 이루어진 이후, 전문가들은 인공지능이 비싸고 힘든 약물 발견 과정을 구원할 것이라고 큰 기대를 걸어왔습니다.그러나 지난 10년 동안의 경험은 엇갈린 결과를 보여주었습니다. 

이 강연에서는 "AI 약물 발견" 분야의 발전 과정을 요약하는 역사적인 강의로 시작하여, 광범위한 낙관론이 어떻게 형성되었는지를 살펴보겠습니다. 그 후, 현재 AI가 약물 발견에 사용되고 있는 현황을 설명하고, 마지막으로 "양자 기계 학습"의 형태로 양자 기술이 미래에 어떻게 적용될 수 있는지에 대해 소개하겠습니다.

 Ever since the rebirth of machine learning signified by the advent of deep learning, pundits have been touting AI to be a savior for drug discovery, an expensive and arduous process.

However, what we have learned last 10 years are mixed results. In this lecture, I will start with a history lesson that summarizes the series of developments in the field of "AI drug discovery", which have led to widespread optimism. Then I will describe the current status of the use of AI in drug discovery. Finally, I will show the way to the future, especially the application of "quantum technology" in the form of quantum machine learning.
