Job Announcement for Tenure-track Research positions at Center for Soft and Living Matter The Institute for Basic Science at UNIST is a national research institution established in accordance with Article 14 of the “Special Act on Establishment of and Support for International Science and Business Belt”. The Institute aims at discovering creative knowledge and securing platform technologies through world-level basic science research. IBS Research Center invites creative and dynamic talent who will help us achieve our goals. ■ Job Description We seek candidates for a tenure-track position with specialty in physical science using advanced laser spectroscopy. The candidate must be fluent in oral and written English and will work on light-matter interactions to elucidate fundamental problems of soft and living matter. It is highly desirable that the candidate has working experience with (i) design and construction of homebuilt femtosecond laser-based physical measurements such as 2D-IR or super-resolution microscopy (ii) experimental experience with transport phenomena, for example energy migration through molecular bonds, molecular diffusion through liquid solutions, or exciton transport within organic semiconductor materials. A successful track record of published innovation on scientific problems formulated creatively by the candidate is expected. Candidates will be evaluated in part on their ideas for future research. As part of the application for this position, candidates are expected to submit a 3-10 page research proposal describing the independent research they aim to accomplish. ■ Qualifications [General Qualifications] ?
