In the QS World University Rankings 2015 - 2016, GIST was ranked No. 2 in the world in the category of citations per faculty. In the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2014 - 2015, where GIST was included for evaluation for the first time, it was placed at No. 4 in Korea and at No. 96 in the world in the subject of Engineering and Technology. This clearly shows that GIST can compete with any institution of higher learning around the world in terms of academic and research achievements.

Here at GIST, we are also trying hard to make tangible contributions to local, national, and global development. Through technology transfer and commercialization, our research results should lead to creating new industries and jobs, and ultimately to improving our quality of life. To realize that goal, we are actively promoting student and faculty startups so that they may blaze new trails with a fearless pioneering spirit.
