Mentoring the next generation of ambitious scientists is the hallmark of GIST Professors
As the future will be vastly different from its current state due developments in science and technology, Mechatronics has emerged as a new academic discipline, based on the fusion of mechanical/electrical/software that will greatly enhance the quality of human life. At GIST, the School of Mechatronics is comprised of 5 specialized research groups, concentrating on the specific areas of.
Our School includes student from diverse background, including but not limited to electrical/electronic/ computer, mechanical/aerospace/navel, control and instrumentation/mechatronics, and medical and industrial engineering fields in order to promote conditions conducive to creativity. We then work to guide them into target interests through a team-based approach. Through this process of selection and development of future technologies and by its application in various areas, we strive to nurture key thinkers, many of whom will be future leaders in global competitions. Currently, many alumni of our school work for various renowned national research centers and world’s leading companies. In doing so, we believe the key to success is to cultivate students as system engineers who have in-depth knowledge of software design, hardware manufacturing, and basic science.
