Creating harmony for a healthy, balanced life
Modeled after Caltech's Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF), GIST's program selects students in their second to fourth year of undergraduate study and assigns them to graduate school laboratories to conduct research under the guidance of a faculty advisor for a total of eight weeks during the summer.
G-SURF provides an excellent opportunity for undergraduate students to gain beneficial and practical research experience prior to graduating from GIST College. Students learn to apply basic science principles and knowledge to real-world research problems (fostering creativity and problem-solving skills) while acquiring more advanced research skills by being mentored by their advisors and by experiencing life in a research laboratory (fostering communication and collaboration).
Research scholarships (supported by GIST College and the advising professor)
