Professor Chiwook Won wins first prize in philosophy

□ GIST College Professor Chiwook Won was awarded the '1st Moha Analytical Philosophy Paper Award' on November 25, 2017, at the regular conference meeting of the Korean Association of Analytical Philosophy.

∘ The 'Moha Analytical Philosophy Paper Award' is run by the former LG Electronics Chairman Hun-joo Lee, which provided the Moha academic fund in the philosophy department of Seoul National University. It aims to support scholarly activities for the development of analytical philosophy in Korea and the development of analytical philosophers in the world. 

□ Professor Chiwook Won wrote a paper entitled "Overdetermination, Counterfactuals, and Mental Causation" (Philosophical Review, 2014). Based on the reflection on the causal concept, the paper presents a new diagnosis about the problems of mental illness, which is the traditional metaphysical subject of the mind.

□ The Philosophical Review published in the journal is the most authoritative journal in the philosophical field, and the paper is the first domestic paper to be published in the journal.
