    가. 광주과학기술원을 대표하여 업무를 집행하고, 교직원을 총괄할 수 있는 인격과 능력을 갖추신 분

    나. 광주과학기술원을 세계 일류 연구중심 대학원 대학으로 발전시킬 수 있는 행정력과 실천력을 갖추신 분

    다. 청렴성과 도덕성 등 건전한 윤리의식을 갖추신 분

    라. 광주과학기술원 정관 제19조하단참고의 결격사유에 해당되지 아니한 분

<참고> 광주과학기술원 정관 제19조의 결격사유

1. 피성년후견인, 피한정후견인, 또는 파산의 선고를 받고 복권되지 아니한 자

 2. 금고이상의 형을 받고 그 집행이 종료되거나 또는 집행을 받지 아니하기로 확정된 후 5년이 경과하지 아니한 자

 3. 금고이상의 형을 받고 그 집행유예기간이 종료된 날부터 2년을 경과하지 아니한 자

 4. 금고이상의 형의 선고유예를 받은 경우는 그 선고유예기간 중에 있는 자

 5. 징계로 파면처분을 받은 때부터 5년이 지나지 아니한 자

 6. 징계로 해임처분을 받은 때부터 3년이 지나지 아니한 자

 7. 법원의 판결 또는 다른 법률에 따라 자격이 상실되거나 정지된 자

 8. 「성폭력범죄의 처벌 등에 관한 특례법」제2조에 규정된 죄를 범한 사람으로서 100만원 이상의 벌금형을 선고받고 그 형이 확정된 후 3년이 지나지 아니한 사람

 9. 미성년자에 대한 다음 각 목의 어느 하나에 해당하는 죄를 저질러 파면·해임되거나 형 또는 치료감호를 선고 받아 그 형 또는 치료감호가 확정된 사람(집행유예를 선고받은 후 그 집행유예기간이 경과한 사람을 포함한다)

    가. 「성폭력범죄의 처벌 등에 관한 특례법」제2조에 따른 성폭력범죄

Recommencement of Open Invitations for the 9th President of GIST

Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST, www.gist.ac.kr) is a Korean government-funded, research-oriented institute founded in 1993 to educate the next-generation of researchers in advanced science and technology in accordance with the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology Act.

Ahead of the 30th anniversary of its establishment, GIST has become one of the most distinguished universities in Korea with its globally recognized education and research capabilities in a short time.

GIST College, which was established in 2010, emphasizes innovative education to prepare students to become convergence specialists by endowing them with advanced scientific expertise that is reinforced with a broad background in the humanities.

GIST now invites all qualified persons to apply for the position of President of GIST to lead the future of GIST on a global scale with vision, integrity, and leadership.

∙ Be able to carry out all official duties of and on behalf of GIST

∙ Be able to supervise the faculty and staff of GIST with exemplary professionalism

∙ Be able to develop GIST as a world-renowned research institute through superb administrative and

managerial abilities

∙ Must have and maintain high standards of ethics, integrity and morality

∙ Must not fall under the purview of Article 19 of the GIST Articles of Association (see below)

Article 19 (Grounds for Disqualification) of the GIST Articles of Association : 1. A person under adult guardianship, a ward under limited guardianship, or a person who was declared bankrupt and has not yet been reinstated / 2. A person in whose case five years have not passed since his or her imprisonment without labor or a heavier punishment as declared by a court was completely executed or exempted / 3. A person who was sentenced by the suspension of the execution of imprisonment without labor or a heavier punishment and for whom two years have not passed since the period of suspension expired / 4. A person who is under a suspended sentence of imprisonment without labor or a heavier punishment as declared by a court / 5. A person who was removed from office by a disciplinary action, and for whom five years have not passed thereafter / 6. A person who was dismissed by a disciplinary action, and for whom three years have not passed thereafter / 7. A person who is disqualified, or whose qualification is suspended, pursuant to a judgment of the court or other statutes / 8. A person who committed a crime prescribed in Article 2 of the 「Act on Special Cases concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes」and was sentenced to a fine of at least one million won and in whose case three years have not yet passed since the ruling on such sentence became final / 9. A person who was removed from office or dismissed or was sentenced to a penalty or medical treatment and custody and the ruling on such sentence became final for his or her commission of any of the following crimes (including a person for whom the suspension of execution is declared and the period of suspension of execution lapsed) A. Sexual crimes under Article 2 of the 「Act on Special Cases concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes」B. Sex offenses against children or youth under subparagraph 2 of Article 2 of the 「Act on the Protection of Children and Youth against Sex Offenses」
