The Asia Pacific Center for Theoretical Physics (APCTP) opens a few positions for leaders of Independent Junior Research Group (JRG) in theoretical physics and related fields. The APCTP (https://www.apctp.org), founded in 1996, is a non-governmental organization aiming for an international center dedicated to excellence in research and the training of young scientists in the Asia-Pacific region.
JOB DESCRIPTION
These positions are open to strengthen the in-house research program of the Center by forming new JRGs. The Center has sixteen member countries and forms a research network center of the Asia Pacific region in the field of theoretical physics through various academic activities. We encourage applications in the area of theoretical physics, including but not limited to astrophysics, condensed matter physics, nuclear/hadron physics, particle physics, string theory, and statistical physics. The existing JRGs at the Center can be found at the APCTP homepage (http://www.apctp.org). Each JRG leader is granted academic independence and encouraged to build his/her own research group. JRG leaders are also expected to promote and take advantage of the connection with other research centers of the world including the Asia Pacific region.
REMUNERATION
Funding is initially available for three years, renewable up to two additional years depending on the research performance and the availability of resources for the program. An annual salary, including severance pay, will start from KRW 65,000,000 depending on research experience and qualification. In addition to the salary, complimentary housing, office, and research fund including part of relocation costs are provided. The research fund may be used for hiring postdoctoral fellows and students, as well as for covering research activities. The starting date is expected to be August 1, 2019 but is negotiable.

a recommendation letter respectively from two referees: the two letters of recommendation should be arranged to be sent directly from your referees by the application deadline.
